A love of travel and photography began for me as a kid on summer family trips across the US.
My dad, who took ‘too many’ photos back then, gave me his old 35mm camera when I started college at
Depaul in Chicago. A few days after graduating with a music and sound recording degree in 1993
I landed a job as a sound tech on a cruise ship. I set out to see ‘a little bit’ of the world for what I thought
might last a year or two. I was hooked. Camera in tow. It lasted 10 years !
Enjoying the world’s most famous sights... the ones I had only read about in school...
the Pyramids, the Colosseum, the Great Barrier Reef was a dream come true...
as was getting paid to be there. Perhaps even more magical was the chance to wander the cobbled
streets of centuries old towns and remote places I had hardly even heard of... Gotland Island
in Sweden... Hvar, Croatia... Yangon, Myanmar... Reunion Island in the Indian Ocean... and even Namibia.
Frequent swims in vibrant blue tropical waters - the kind I had only known from travel
advertisements - became a dreamy routine (in between hours of work !)
I still love to travel. Now days my wife and daughter often come along for the journey.
I am fortunate enough to have seen a few more corners of the world than I ever imagined possible.
Six continents, 92 countries, over 100 islands, and even more cities, towns, and unique locales.
The stacks of photos and miles of negative strips have now given way to gigabytes of images on
tiny hard drives, but the love of photography and the sense of discovering a new and beautiful place
hasn’t been replaced, but instead has grown deeper.
Bright World Images is the result of my love of travel, foreign places, diverse cultures and
adventures in our big bright world. It is my wish that my work will open eyes to this
amazing beauty and, in a small way, bring at least a little peace.
I hope you enjoy these scenes as much as I do shooting them.

over 100 islands, and about 300 cities, towns, and remote locales.

Bright World Images is based in Tinley Park, Illinois near Chicago and is a registered business
in Cook County. It was founded in 2003 as a creative outlet for my passion for travel and photography.
My photographs are predominantly rights managed with a small royalty free collection.
Scenic images are captured in hi-resolution digital,
or on 35mm or 120 film and processed into high resolution scans.
Except for minor adjustments, post processing is usually kept to a minimum to preserve
the 'natural' quality of the scene.
I take assignments for travel, advertising, corporate, portraits, and other events.
I shoot digital most of the time, but film remains an option if you'd like for certain applications.
